Hardware Registry

The Hardware Registry is a catalogue of over 500 pre-indexed components, available in both the VS Code extension and the CLI.

Selecting a part pulls in its vendor datasheets, reference manuals, and errata automatically. You get grounded answers about a catalogued chip without uploading anything.

Select your hardware

  1. Open your project in the dashboard.
  2. Click HW Registry.
  3. Select the platform your firmware targets.
  4. Select the peripherals fitted to your board.

Verify the revision

Vendors ship multiple datasheet revisions per chip, and they differ on exactly the details that matter: timing, errata, register defaults.

Confirm the revision you select matches the parts actually on your board. The wrong revision will lead Hydron astray, and it will do so confidently.

Fill the gaps

The catalogue covers standard parts. It cannot know about your board.

Add as datasources anything specific to your design:

  • Board schematics
  • Errata sheets, which often contradict the main datasheet on edge cases
  • Custom HAL specifications
  • Internal design documents

Even when your platform is catalogued, adding your own schematics and internal specs makes every answer specific to your exact hardware variant rather than to the reference design.
